The ECVIM-CA Clinical Studies Fund and the Society of Comparative Hepatology (SCH) are pleased to announce the inaugural SCH Pilot Study Research Award.
The Society of Comparative Hepatology (SCH) serves as an international organization for veterinary professionals interested in comparative hepatology. The SCH Mission is to stimulate and support the veterinary profession to improve the understanding of hepatobiliary diseases in dogs and cats with the aim to prevent, diagnose and treat liver diseases to the highest possible level.
The SCH is offering €5,000 to fund small pilot projects through the ECVIM-CA CSF Committee. Funds are used to support at least one pilot project, with a maximum of €5,000 per award.
Projects should be related to the pathogenesis, diagnosis, therapy or prevention of hepatobiliary disease. Oncological projects will only be considered if they relate directly to primary hepatobiliary neoplasia.

The Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator for each project must be a Diplomate of the ECVIM-CA or ACVIM. If the latter, at least one member of the project team needs to be a Diplomate of the ECVIM-CA and their input in the project must be specifically clarified.
ECVIM-CA and ACVIM Enrolled Residents may also apply provided there is a Co-Principal Investigator (Project Supervisor) who is a Diplomate of the ECVIM-CA. Only clinical projects that do not involve invasive or harmful procedures will be considered.
The maximum amount awarded per project will be €5,000.
The funding amount available for 2026 is €5,000.

The Clinical Studies Fund Committee will review the applications, and the committee anticipates sending out result letters by the end of February 2026.
